Blood tests are SNOMED coded in EMIS Web

In EMIS Web, once a blood test has been posted back into the EMIS workflow by the laboratory, clinicians are required to review the results.

Until results have been reviewed, whilst still visible within the patient record, the posted results are flagged as 'preliminary'. Once reviewed within the EMIS workflow, the blood test can be fully approved.

Pathology results are automatically SNOMED coded. This enables users to:

• You can quickly compare results over time
• Results for specific tests can be tracked visually
• You can run reports on specific tests (for example, "how many times have I run this test in the practice this year?")
