Hero Health - EMIS Web Support Guide

What should be considered before making a patient deduction request in EMIS Web?

Patients
Intermediate

Before making a deduction request, ensure the patient is a regular active patient who has been accepted via GP Links. If you send a deduction request in error, you cannot edit it once it goes to your trading partner.

Gather key details in advance:

  • Confirm the patient’s status (for example, whether they are active or non-regular).
  • Choose the correct reason for deduction (Death, Embarkation, or Other).
  • Enter any notes or further information to support the deduction request (for instance, cause of death if relevant).
  • Make sure you have the correct RBAC permissions (for example, B8029 or B0825) to manage patient records.

Check for outstanding tasks before proceeding. Any open tasks must be completed prior to archiving the patient, as the system does not allow archiving records with pending tasks. Once the trading partner has processed the request and you have confirmation, archive the patient to keep your patient searches accurate and secure.
