Deducting a community patient helps keep your records accurate, minimises administrative tasks, and ensures patient details remain up to date.

  • Access Registration from the EMIS Web menu.
  • Select the relevant community patient.
  • On the ribbon, click Deduct Patient.
  • Choose the appropriate Deduction Reason, for example Dead or Registration expired.
  • Enter the date in the Date of Notification/Date of Death field.
  • Add any notes if needed, cancel any outstanding appointments, and click OK.

This updates the patient’s status to ensure they are no longer included in active searches, freeing administrative time and improving data accuracy.
