Hero Health - EMIS Web Support Guide

What is a session template in EMIS Web?

Appointments
Intermediate

Session templates in EMIS Web define the default properties of a session, including timings, slot durations, and booking preferences. By creating and saving a session template, you can reuse it whenever you need to run that type of session again. This saves time for administrators and ensures consistency across your practice.

How it works

  • Go to the EMIS button, then select Appointments > Week Templates and click New Session Template on the ribbon.
  • Fill in your session details (e.g. session name, type, duration), decide if you want to hide the session from Patient Access or make it available for online booking, and add any private or non-clinical notes.
  • Optionally assign session holders. You can also add multiple session holders for joint clinics.
  • Save the session template so it’s ready to use in the future.

If you want patients to be able to book these sessions online, you can mark the slots as bookable. You can then integrate with a secure booking system for even more convenient patient access.
