Steps to Enable or Disable IHR Sharing Temporarily

  • Open EMIS Web and select the patient record you wish to modify.
  • Navigate to the Care Record menu, and then click on any screen except for Medication.
  • On the ribbon at the top, click Sharing and choose IHR Sharing.
  • In the Patient Consent Preference screen, do one of the following:
    • Select I consent to temporarily sharing the patient's detailed record to enable.
    • Select I wish to temporarily not share the patient's detailed record to disable.
  • Click OK to apply the selected sharing preference.

Why Utilize Temporary IHR Sharing?

"Enabling temporary IHR sharing can save valuable time for on-call medical staff, ensuring they access necessary patient data efficiently when providing urgent care."

Temporary IHR sharing ensures patient privacy is upheld while allowing vital medical information to be accessible when needed, improving decision-making and patient outcomes during unplanned healthcare events.
