Viewing and updating consent for Individual Health Record (IHR) sharing in EMIS Web is a straightforward process. IHRs allow authorised external organisations, such as out-of-hours services, to access pertinent health information when necessary.

Managing Consent

You can manage a patient's IHR sharing preferences through EMIS Web by following the steps below:

Authorising clinicians to access IHRs during critical care situations can greatly enhance decision-making efficiency, providing better immediate care for patients.
  • Navigate to the Care Record module and select the appropriate patient.
  • Access the Sharing menu from the ribbon and select IHR Sharing.
  • On the Patient Consent Preference screen, choose whether the patient consents or dissents to sharing their health record.
  • Click 'OK' to update the patient's preferences.
