Filing Documents in a Patient's Care Record
In EMIS Web, there are several methods to file documents within a patient's Care Record, ensuring that all pertinent information is organised effectively for easy retrieval and management. Here's how you can file and manage documents:
Linking a Document to a Problem
Linking documents to specific problems not only helps in maintaining an organised record system but also allows for a more streamlined approach to patient care. To link a document to a problem:
- Access the Problems screen by clicking on the EMIS Web menu, pointing to Care Record, then selecting Problems.
- Select the specific problem you want to link a document to.
- In the Linked Documents section within the Detailed View pane, click Edit Links.
- Use the search field if needed to find the document and select the checkbox beside it.
- Click OK to link the document to the chosen problem.
Organising and Accessing Documents
Once documents are filed and linked within the Care Record, they can be easily accessed for quick reference during patient consultations or reviews. This functionality not only improves administrative efficiency but also enhances the quality of patient care by providing comprehensive historical information.
Linking documents to specific patient problems can dramatically reduce the time spent searching for historical data, allowing healthcare professionals to focus more on patient care.
