Rescheduling an Appointment
To move a patient’s existing booking to another date or time, open the Appointment Book from the EMIS menu and select the relevant session:
- Right-click the existing appointment slot and choose Cut.
- Navigate to the new date or session where you wish to place the appointment.
- Right-click the target slot and select Paste (or Paste and Print if you want to produce an updated letter).
This automatically updates the booking details, but EMIS Web does not send another text reminder. If you need to notify the patient, send a fresh SMS through the normal messaging process.
Alternatively, you can cancel the original booking and re-book the same patient into a new slot. This approach might be easier if you’re unsure which timetable to choose or if you need to free up the old slot for someone else.
Tip: Ensure you have the correct RBAC permissions (for example, B0560) to manage rescheduling. If you cannot perform these actions, check with your system administrator.
