Finding an Available Slot
Open your Appointment Book from the EMIS button and select Appointment Book. The navigation pane shows a calendar view. To locate a free appointment time:
- Click Find Slot: Look for a slot on a particular date or after a certain time. You can also set filters such as Urgent, Slot Type, or specific Session Holders.
- Specify Search Criteria: Choose Time of Day (morning or afternoon) or search within certain hours. Adjust location and slot type if necessary.
- Refine with Advanced Criteria: Exclude days the patient can’t attend or require a specific clinician’s language. This is useful if you need consecutive slots or want to keep certain sessions free.
- Select a Result: Available appointments show in the Search Results. Choose the one that suits the patient’s needs, then click Book Appointment.

If your organisation uses SMS or email reminders, the patient’s mobile number or email address may be added automatically. You can deselect any reminders if the patient wishes to opt out.
