Rescheduling an appointment in EMIS Web is simpler than it might sound. You can do it directly from the Appointment Book without causing confusion for your colleagues or patients. Here’s how you can quickly move a patient’s booking to a new time or date.
Moving an appointment to a new slot
First, open the Appointment Book and find the session containing the appointment you want to move. Right-click the booked slot, then select Cut. Next, go to the new date and time in the calendar, right-click the slot you want to use and select Paste and Print (or simply Paste if you don’t need any printed confirmation). Complete the Move Appointment details that pop up, and click Move Appointment.
EMIS Web moves the appointment for you, which frees up the original slot. This saves a huge amount of time for practice administrators, especially if you often need to juggle schedules during peak times.
Save time and keep patients informed
If you keep appointment letters on record, print one for the patient so they have the new time written down. If you use SMS or email reminders and the patient has consented, they'll automatically receive a notice about the appointment change.
