How to grant appointment book editing rights to specific users in EMIS Web?

Granting appointment book editing rights in EMIS Web is managed through role-based access control (RBAC) activities in Organisation Configuration. By assigning the correct activities to a user’s profile, you provide them with the specific actions needed to manage appointments and sessions.

Key steps

1. Go to Organisation Configuration and select Users or Edit User.
2. In the chosen user’s Role settings, confirm they have the relevant RBAC activities, particularly B0862 (Manage Staff Diary/Rotas). This allows splitting, merging, inserting and deleting slots.
3. If needed, grant other activities such as B8013 or B0560 to enable extra appointment tasks (like marking patients as arrived or cutting/pasting appointments).
4. Select Save to confirm changes. The user will then have the ability to edit the appointment book as per their assigned activities.

Restricting appointment editing rights in this way helps maintain privacy and control, while ensuring staff with the correct responsibilities can manage diaries efficiently.
