Can I stop an EMIS Web user from being able to book appointments?

How to remove a user's ability to book appointments:

If you need to stop someone from booking appointments in EMIS Web, review and adjust their Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) privileges. Specifically, remove or restrict the B0560 – Perform Patient Administration activity from their role profile. Once this permission is revoked, they will no longer be able to use the Appointment module to schedule new appointments.

Depending on your organisation’s local processes, you may wish to:

  • Remove them from the Session Holder list: If the user is shown as a session holder, disable this in Organisation Configuration so they don’t appear in the Appointment Book filters.
  • Audit their current role settings: Ensure no other settings grant them indirect booking access.
Reducing the number of users with booking permissions can help align your workforce with protected data standards and avoid unnecessary scheduling.
