How do I track changes made to the appointment book in EMIS Web?

Audit Trails in EMIS Web offer a straightforward way to track actions such as booking, editing or cancelling appointments, so you can identify who made each change and when it happened. This can help improve accountability and protect patient privacy.

Using the System Audit

1. Select EMIS Web menu > System Tools > Audit Trails, then choose System Audit on the ribbon.

2. In the navigation pane, apply filters:

  • Date Filter: Narrow down changes to a specific date range.
  • User Filter: See who made the edits.
  • Event Type: Select Appointment Slot to focus on appointment book changes.
  • Action: Choose actions like Booked or Cancelled to pinpoint relevant updates.

3. Click Apply to display the filtered audit data. You can see the patient name, booking organisation (if relevant), and a timestamp of each change.

4. To create a record of these changes, use the Export button on the toolbar and select a CSV option. This helps with further analysis or record keeping.
