Hero Health - EMIS Web Support Guide

How to grant appointment book editing rights to specific users in EMIS Web?

Appointments
Advanced

Access the user’s role profile
Open Organisation Configuration in EMIS Web, locate the relevant user, then select Edit User. Navigate to the Role section where you can add the required RBAC activities.

Assign the correct RBAC activities
To allow a user to edit the Appointment Book (for example, by creating sessions or changing slots), ensure they have:

  • B0560 Perform Patient Administration – required to perform tasks like cutting/pasting slots and editing slot properties.
  • B0862 Manage Staff Diary/Rotas – required to create new sessions or split/merge appointment slots.
  • B8013 Amend Patient Administration – required to mark patients as arrived, sent in, etc.

Check session holder status (if applicable)
If the user needs to manage or view certain columns in the Appointment Book, confirm Appointment Session Holder is set to “Yes” in their role details. Without this, they might not see or edit relevant diaries.

Save changes
Click OK to confirm and update the user’s permissions. The user can now make adjustments in the Appointment Book, split or merge slots, or manage sessions according to the privileges assigned.
