How to audit changes made to appointments by individual users in EMIS Web?

Checking the Appointment Audit Trail

Use the built-in audit trail to see who added, edited or cancelled appointments in EMIS Web. This lets you track important actions at a glance and helps your practice maintain accurate records.

To view audit details:

  • Open EMIS Web, select System Tools, then choose Audit Trails.
  • From the ribbon, select System Audit. The navigation pane on the left shows available filters.
  • Refine your search using Date Filter (choose specific dates), User Filter (select specific user accounts) and Event Type (such as ‘Appointment Slot’).
  • Choose the Action you want to investigate (e.g. booked, edited, cancelled) and click Apply.

The results show who performed any appointment changes, including patient name, date and organisation. For larger sets of data, you can click Export on the ribbon to generate a CSV file. This is helpful for record keeping or further analysis.
