To effectively preview and manage Summary Care Record (SCR) content in EMIS Web, follow these steps to ensure accurate and comprehensive patient information management:
Preview SCR Content
Access Summary Care Record: Navigate within the Care Record module in EMIS Web. Use the Local Preview option from the ribbon to assess the current SCR data against the version held on the Spine. Options include viewing Medication, allergies, and adverse reactions, as well as additional information segments.
Manage SCR Content
Within the Care Record, select Manage Inclusions. This screen allows the addition of significant data manually if it’s not automatically included:
- Add Code: Insert additional data that benefits patient care but is not part of the automatically included record.
- Remove Code: Exclude certain data if confidentiality policies allow.

Automatic Upload of Reports
Post initial SCR enrolment, EMIS Web automatically updates the patient summary whenever changes occur, such as the addition of new medication or revisions in patient allergies, ensuring the data on the NHS Spine is current. This reduces manual workload and ensures all healthcare interactions are based on the latest patient data.
