Hero Health - EMIS Web Support Guide

How do you download and execute the EMIS Web installer?

Using EMIS
Beginner

Before you begin

Ensure your PC meets EMIS Web’s recommended hardware requirements. You’ll need read/write permissions on:

  • C:\ProgramData\EMIS
  • C:\ProgramData\SDS

Have your Organisation ID (CDB number) ready. If you’re installing at a non-headquarter site (e.g. if your ID contains a letter), be sure you enter the entire ID including the letter. If you’re remote, keep in mind you’ll need an HSCN or VPN connection.

Downloading the installer

Obtain the EMIS Web installer executable from your local source, following your practice’s IT policy. Make sure to store it somewhere you can easily access on your PC.

Running the installer

Once you’ve got the installation file:

  • Close any running instances of EMIS Web.
  • Locate and double-click the EMIS installer.exe file.
  • In the Organisation ID field, enter your CDB number (e.g. 101 or 101a).
  • If your organisation is in Jersey or Northern Ireland, choose the matching option under Advanced settings.
  • If you’re on a virtual machine, select Yes when prompted.
  • Click Install and wait for the process to complete. The software will download any updates needed along the way.
  • Once completed, an EMIS Web shortcut should appear on your desktop. Double-click it to launch.

"Installing EMIS Web on only the machines that need it helps avoid unnecessary patch downloads, saving both time and bandwidth."
