Link recall appointments through booking reasons and slot types
First, configure a specific booking reason in Appointments Configuration (under Organisation Options) for your recall type (e.g. annual reviews or blood pressure follow-ups). In the Reasons tab, add a new reason labelled “Recall Appointment” and, if relevant, specify a suggested duration.
You can then choose Reason must be entered when booking, ensuring staff always pick the correct recall type when scheduling. This makes it easier to filter, report, and track your recall slots. If you want to highlight these appointment slots visually, create a dedicated Slot Type or use slot notes to help staff see which ones are for recalls.
Empower your practice team by focusing recalls into dedicated slots. This cuts admin time and helps ensure no patient misses a follow-up.
Reviewing recall appointments
Once set up, you’ll see your recall appointments in the Appointment Book with a reason attached. This helps you quickly confirm who is due in for a recall. Making the reason mandatory means that administrators and clinicians won’t overlook key prompts. You can also look at the slot Slot History if you need an audit trail of changes or booking details.
