Hero Health - EMIS Web Support Guide

How can I restrict users from overbooking specific sessions in EMIS Web?

Restricting overbookings in EMIS Web involves configuring each session so that free slots are strictly controlled. Consider these steps:

  • Create or edit session templates carefully: When you set up a session (whether directly in the Appointment Book or via a session template), define clear start and end times, and set the exact number of bookable slots.
  • Use conflict detection: As soon as you attempt to book beyond the available slots, EMIS Web flags this as a conflict. Choose Do Not Create if you want to block appointments that exceed capacity.
  • Manage permissions in Appointments Configuration: You can remove certain users’ abilities to bypass conflicts by configuring role-based access. Users without the relevant permissions cannot finalise an overbooked appointment.

“Defining strict slot limits, combined with automatic conflict checks, helps maintain orderly schedules and prevents administrative headaches.”
