Using the Quick Launch Menu on Your Homepage
To quickly open the sections of EMIS Web you use most, you can add shortcuts to the Quick Launch Menu. Configure this by selecting Configure Homepage, then under Quick Launch Menu, choose the modules you need. Your chosen shortcuts appear on the homepage, giving you fast access.
Shortcuts on the Quick Access Toolbar
Another method is the Quick Access Toolbar near the EMIS button. Click the dropdown arrow beside the toolbar, select Customise Quick Access Toolbar, then add modules you want a one-click shortcut for. This helps you avoid searching through menus.
Keyboard Shortcuts and Function Keys
Press Alt to reveal on-screen letter indicators, then press E to open the EMIS menu and jump to a module. You can also rely on function keys (F2 for Workflow Manager, F9 for Medication, etc.) to switch between sections without using a mouse.
Staff with many daily tasks often find that memorising a handful of function key shortcuts can significantly speed up patient care.
EMIS Button
The EMIS button in the top-left corner offers a complete list of modules. This can be handy if you need quick access to items you haven’t configured as a shortcut.
Switching Between Organisations
If you need access to more than one practice setup on the same computer, enable the Configuration Switcher from your Windows Start menu. This makes it easy to swap between different EMIS Web organisations without reinstalling anything.
