To access patient data in the Graphnet Portal from EMIS Web, healthcare professionals need to follow several key steps. This functionality allows them to view patient information collected from various sources, facilitating a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient care.
Activating the Graphnet Portal
Start by contacting support to request the activation of the Graphnet Portal for your organisation. This is a prerequisite to enabling the feature within EMIS Web.
Configuring User Access
Once activated, configure the Graphnet Portal settings by going to Configuration and selecting Organisation Configuration. Enable access by setting the Allow Graphnet Portal access option to 'Yes', and specify the region.
- Add required user roles through the Graphnet User Details screen by inputting the username and password provided by Graphnet.
- Set an appropriate role profile and save the changes.
Ensure that users log off and log back into EMIS Web for changes to take effect.
Using the Graphnet Portal
Within EMIS Web, access the Care Record section. If a patient is not already selected, you will be prompted to choose one. Expand the left-hand View pane and select Graphnet Portal from the External Views section. This will launch the portal to display specific patient data.
"The Graphnet Portal integration in EMIS Web significantly improves efficiency by allowing healthcare professionals to access a centralised view of patient records, saving time and enhancing care coordination."
If the portal is unavailable, you can temporarily access it via an external browser.

Hero Health offers additional functionalities that integrate with EMIS Web to streamline patient management. For instance, Care navigation triage allows patients to submit information directly to the practice, which is then used to direct them to suitable services. This can greatly enhance practice efficiency and improve patient experience.
