Overview

The EMIS Web homepage supports an RSS Feed pane so you can follow external website updates without leaving the system. This helps practice administrators quickly see news, policy changes or announcements from trusted sources.

Staying up to date with relevant local or national healthcare updates can save valuable admin time previously spent checking multiple websites.

Steps to Add and Configure Your RSS Feed

  • Open the website that has an RSS feed you want to follow and locate the RSS feed icon.
  • Click Subscribe to this feed and confirm your subscription in Internet Explorer (or your chosen browser).
  • Right-click the feed in your browser’s favourites and copy the full Address (URL) from its feed properties.
  • Go to the EMIS Web homepage. At the top-right of the RSS Feed pane, select the config (settings) icon.
  • Paste the feed’s URL into the RSS Feed URL field.
  • If you want this feed for everyone in your organisation, tick Set as default RSS feed for organisation.
  • Click OK to confirm. The new feed appears on your homepage.

Important Note

In EMIS Web 9.22.2 and later releases, the RSS Feed pane has been removed from the homepage. The instructions above are relevant if you are still using an earlier release.
