In EMIS Web, a child protection warning is automatically added to a patient's record when a safeguarding clinical code is recorded. To remove a child protection warning, an authorised clinical code indicating the removal must be applied.
Steps to Remove a Child Protection Warning
Follow these steps to ensure the removal is processed correctly:
- Access the patient's record where the warning is listed.
- Add the relevant removal clinical code, ensuring it matches the initial safeguarding code that triggered the warning. This can be done in the Care Record module.
- For organisations using SNOMED CT, use the SNOMED CT concept ID equivalent to ensure compatibility.
- Once the removal code is added, save and refresh the patient’s record to reflect changes.
"Accurate management of child protection warnings not only safeguards children but significantly optimises the workflow for healthcare providers."
Understanding Clinical Codes
Each child protection scenario is matched with specific codes for both warning and removal. Ensuring the correct removal code is used is crucial for maintaining accurate patient records and avoiding erroneous records.
