Managing Cross-Organisation Warnings
To manage cross-organisation patient warnings, ensure your organisation has activated the Care Record sharing agreement in EMIS Web. This setup is crucial for viewing and editing warnings shared between organisations.
Adding a New Warning: Access the patient's record using the Patient Find tool. In the expanded patient précis, proceed to the 'Manage' option in the Patient Warnings section. Choose 'Add,' then input the necessary warning information, defining specific actions (trigger points) that will activate the warning. To share the warning across organisations, select the option to make it viewable by others.
Editing Existing Warnings: Similar to adding a warning, select the patient and go to the 'Manage' area. From here, choose the warning you wish to modify. The user can adjust the message and applicable triggers, and decide on the sharing status with other organisations.
Deleting a Warning: Access the same management section and select the warning intended for removal. Confirm the action to delete it from your organisation's records. Note, however, that warnings from other organisations cannot be modified or deleted.
Viewing and Sharing Warnings
The details regarding the shared warnings can be reviewed from the Patient Warnings screen, which shows all the existing alerts alongside options for additional management. Sharing is streamlined via the navigation pane, allowing peer organisations to maintain updated patient précis with vital information that could impact treatment decisions.
