Integrating Cerner Millennium with EMIS Web
To leverage the Cerner Millennium HIE within EMIS Web, you need to ensure that the Cerner Portal option is activated for your organisation. This task must be performed by a system administrator with the appropriate role permissions.
- Contact the HIE manager of your Integrated Care Board (ICB) to request activation.
- Ensure you have the Portal Base URL, Secret Key, and Initialisation Vector provided by the ICB's HIE manager.
Once activation is complete, configure the Cerner portal within EMIS Web:
- Navigate to Organisation Configuration and select your organisation.
- Enable portal access by entering the provided details in the configuration fields: Portal Base URL, Secret Key, and Initialisation Vector.
Viewing Patient Data with the Cerner Portal
Accessing patient data through the Cerner Millennium portal is straightforward:
- Open the Care Record module and select a patient.
- In the External Views section, click on Cerner Portal.
- Select the necessary consent reason to view data.
- The portal will then display the aggregated data for the selected patient, providing an integrated view across organisational boundaries.
