To enable EMIS Web Consultation Write Back, specific requirements must be met to ensure the smooth integration and functionality of this feature. Here are the necessary conditions:
Data Sharing Agreement
A Data Sharing Agreement specifically for Consultation Write Back must be completed and ratified. This agreement enables consultation notes, clinical documents, medications, and clinical codes to seamlessly flow from the PCN Hub back into the patient's GP Care Record. This agreement must include all organisations involved in the consultation process.
Patient Registration
Patients need to be appropriately registered. They must be registered at both their GP Practice and the PCN Hub. This involves "tracing" the patient in the EMIS Hub before any consultation can occur. Patients booked into the hub either via a Cross Organisation Slot or GP Connect will need to be verified that they are correctly traced and registered within the EMIS Clinical Services.
Activation of Enterprise Agreement
The Consultation Write Back Enterprise Agreement needs to be activated within the EMIS Web system for participating organisations. Users with the appropriate EMIS roles must access Data Sharing Manager by navigating through Configuration > Data Sharing Manager
. Select Appointments
and locate the Enhanced Access Consultation Write Back agreement, then Activate Agreement. Ensure that a prescribing user with the necessary credentials, such as a Practice Partner with a GMP PPD code, is selected.
Setting up Consultation Write Back ensures that care is seamless across healthcare providers, eliminating unnecessary delays and improving the quality of care through comprehensive and timely data sharing.
