If the UBRN (Unique Booking Reference Number) retrieval process fails during the creation of an e-Referral Service (eRS) referral, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
- Retry: Initially, you should click on the Retry button located at the bottom right-hand side of the Service Selection screen. This may resolve temporary connectivity issues with the eRS portal.
- Check Smartcard: Ensure that you are logged into EMIS Web using a smartcard. This is crucial as the eRS functionality requires smartcard authentication. Without a smartcard, you cannot access eRS services.
- Create Pending UBRN Task: If the UBRN retrieval is still unsuccessful, EMIS Web will automatically create a Pending UBRN task in the Referral Management module. This serves as a reminder to complete the retrieval at a later time. You can return to this task once the issue causing the retrieval error is resolved.
- Verify System Configuration: Ensure that your system is configured correctly for referrals, including Referral Services and Referral Service Persons, as outlined in the EMIS Web setup. This configuration is essential for smooth referral operations.
EMIS Web simplifies the referral process by integrating the UBRN generation into your workflow, ensuring that every step, from referral to service selection, is manageable, even if immediate circumstances are interrupted.
