Hero Health - EMIS Web Support Guide

How do you apply or remove a confidentiality policy from a patient's record in EMIS Web?

Patients
Beginner

Confidentiality policies in EMIS Web allow you to restrict who can view all or parts of a patient’s record. This is particularly useful for protecting sensitive data.

Applying a confidentiality policy

Prerequisite: You need RBAC activity B0080 (Establish Sealing Controls) in your user profile.

  • Access Registration.
  • Select the patient.
  • On the ribbon, click Confidentiality.
  • Select the required confidentiality policy and click OK.

A red bar appears at the top of the screen, confirming the policy is in place.

Removing a confidentiality policy

Prerequisite: You need RBAC activity B0080 (Establish Sealing Controls) in your user profile.

  • Access Registration.
  • Select the patient.
  • On the ribbon, click Remove Policy.
  • The confidentiality policy is removed instantly.
