Viewing and Interpreting Investigation Result Trends
With EMIS Web, you can easily view and interpret trends in investigation results through both tables and graphs. This feature is vital for monitoring patient's progress over time and making informed clinical decisions efficiently.
Begin by accessing the Investigations screen. Select Care Record from the EMIS Web menu, then choose Investigations. If no patient is selected, you'll be prompted to choose one.
Using the Ribbon
Once on the Investigations screen, use the ribbon options to switch between data displays:
- Values View: Shows all the latest values individually in chronological order.
- View Reports: Displays lab report summaries in an organised format.
Viewing Trends
Select the results you wish to analyse. Hold down the CTRL or SHIFT key to select multiple values. Click on Trend in the ribbon and choose either Tabular Trend for a table or Graphical Trend for a graph. Note, the Graphical Trend is disabled if the values cannot be graphed.

Once the graph or table is displayed, you can hover over data points for more information or add point labels by right-clicking on the graph.
Tip: Use the Date Range field to adjust the period for which you want to view trends. This can also assist in reviewing previous treatments or incidents leading up to significant trends.
To print the analysed data, click Print and follow the on-screen instructions.
