In EMIS Web's Investigations screen, users have access to two distinct views that serve different purposes for examining care records: Values View and View Reports.
Values View
The Values View lists all the individual values contained within a patient's care record. This option provides a comprehensive chronological display of all recent values, allowing clinicians to observe fluctuations over time. This view is particularly useful when examining trends or quickly assessing any changes in a patient's condition or responses to treatment.
View Reports
The View Reports function provides access to a list of the latest laboratory reports related to a patient’s care record. This option is focused more on distinct reports rather than individual data points, allowing clinicians to view detailed lab results in a structured format. This is ideal for reviewing specific tests and detailed outcomes from laboratory investigations.
"The ability to switch between Values View and View Reports ensures that healthcare professionals can efficiently manage and interpret patient data, enabling better-informed decisions and streamlined patient care."
To seamlessly move between these views, users can utilise the ribbon at the top of the Investigations screen. Depending on the specific needs of the consultation or review, the switch provides quick access to either a detailed value analysis or a focused report-based review.
Tip: In the ribbon, selecting 'Abnormal Only' within the Values View allows clinicians to filter and focus on results that fall outside the normal range, potentially saving time in identifying critical results.
Overall, these functionalities within the Investigations screen support robust care management by leveraging the detailed data inputs available in EMIS Web.
