In EMIS Web's Medication module, managing past and current medications efficiently is crucial for optimising patient care. The system allows for comprehensive management of a patient's medication record, including the addition of new medications, updating current prescriptions, and handling past medications.
Managing Current Medications
To manage existing medications, access the Medication module by selecting Medication from the EMIS Web Care Record menu. View the Current Medication tab to see all active prescriptions for a patient. To issue a medication, select it and click Issue. This screen provides options to modify prescription details, add pharmacy or patient-specific messages, and change the urgency of the prescription.
Restarting Past Medications
Past medications are not lost; they can be reinstated. Simply navigate to the Past Medication tab, select the medication you wish to reactivate, click Restart, and update any necessary details. This feature is particularly useful for efficiently managing recurring treatments without manually re-entering all details.
