We collaborate with NHS Primary Care Network’s to assist practices in faster and easier scheduling.

With the latest GP Contract requiring PCNs to make more appointments bookable online, many PCN Directors are looking for a PCN online booking solution integrated with their clinical record such as EMIS or systmOne.

Hero is an EMIS Clinical Services (EMIS CS) integrated scheduling solution. Our aim is to assist PCNs in delivering frictionless online booking directly into EMIS.

We understand that opening up slots for online booking via a PCN or practice website is not always feasible. Patients book slots inappropriately, and it can add to the already complex task of managing a busy practice diary.

With this in mind, in additional to optional embedded booking via a practice website, Hero facilitates online booking via SMS.

Practitioners or administrators can use SMS or email to send a booking link to patients. You can use an existing SMS tool (e.g., Mjog, iPlato, Accurx) or Email tool, or you can use Hero’s integrated SMS and email.

The booking link can be generated for a specific service, location and practitioner. Patients receive the booking link, and can then select an appropriate appointment slot.

You can create intake forms to capture information from the patient upon booking, such as who is the referring clinician or practice - this information can be saved to the EMIS record. Patients will receive automated reminders, and can subsequently reschedule or cancel via the confirmation message.

The booking links can be issued by PCN team members on a batch basis (e.g., for Flu jab clinics, or QoF reviews) or on an individual basis by GP practices wanting to refer their patients to the PCN site (e.g., for surge or overflow care). This acts as a faster alternative to cross-organisational booking solutions, such as GP Connect - and comes with the benefit of being patient led.
