Where are pharmacy and patient messages displayed in the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)?

Within the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS), messages for pharmacies are displayed on the right-hand side of the pharmacist's FP10 preview screen. These messages provide specific details or instructions for the pharmacist, enhancing communication efficiency between prescribers and dispensers. Notably, any pharmacy message will not be printed on an FP10 script if the pharmacist decides to print it. It's vital to liaise with your local pharmacy to establish effective communication practices to ensure the messages are understood in action.

Patient messages are similarly displayed on the right side of the FP10 preview. It is incumbent upon the pharmacist to communicate these messages to the patient, either verbally or by printing the message on the FP10 script copy given to the patient. This functionality is particularly useful for relaying urgent or important health management instructions directly through prescriptions.

"Efficient pharmacy and patient communication through EPS messages helps streamline the prescribing process, reducing the potential for errors and enhancing patient care."
