Patient Information Leaflets within EMIS Web provide a reliable resource for healthcare professionals to share accurate and peer-reviewed health information with patients. These leaflets can be accessed directly within the Care Record and are integrated into the EMIS Web system for ease of use.
Launching Information Leaflets
Access Information Leaflets from several points within the Care Record, including the consultation screens, by right-clicking a clinical code, or via the designated icon in the top ribbon of the Care Record. This functionality is not available from the Medication, Diary, and Document screens. If accessing from a consultation, a separate entry will be created in the patient's record indicating the addition of the Information Leaflet.
Ensuring Confidentiality
If an Information Leaflet pertains to a sensitive topic, you must ensure that these are marked as confidential within the patient’s records. This can be achieved by marking the corresponding consultation in EMIS Web as confidential, prohibiting online access.
Did you know? With the Hero Health platform, practice administrators can streamline patient communications by sending Information Leaflet links via secure emails, enhancing both efficiency and confidentiality management.
Sending Information Leaflets to Patients
- Ensure that the patient consents to receiving emails. This forms a necessary part of ensuring data confidentiality.
- Fill out the details such as subject, which can be customised, and the patient's email address which can be manually adjusted if required.
- Finally, click 'Send Email' to share the leaflet directly with the patient’s email. A consultation note will automatically be added to the patient's record, detailing the title and link to the document.
