Steps to prepare and print a medication summary with attachments

This process ensures you capture complete details of a patient’s medication and any relevant documents in one place.

  • Open the patient’s record: Access Care Record, then select Medication. Ensure you have the correct patient.
  • Add attachments: If you have supporting documents (e.g. patient information leaflets), store them in the patient’s record. From Medication or Documents, attach or link any files you want to include.
  • Print the medication summary: While on the Medication screen, select the Print or Token option if you see it. If you cannot locate an immediate print option, use the Prescription Printing or Issue screen to configure printing preferences (for example, choose to print a token).
  • Include relevant attachments: Some attachments may need to be printed separately if EMIS Web does not merge them by default. If so, simply open the attached document from the patient record and use the normal print function in EMIS Web or your PDF viewer.
  • Finalise and review: If attachments need to be combined, combine them before uploading or print each separately. Double-check your final output to make sure all items are included.

Tip: Printing a complete summary with any necessary clinical documents can save time for administrators and ensures the patient or clinician has all the relevant information at hand.
