Hero Health - EMIS Web Support Guide

How do I print prescribing information for a patient in EMIS Web?

Prescribing & medication
Intermediate

Overview

You can print a prescription token or a paper prescription from the Medication screen. This is useful if you need a quick reference copy or if the patient wishes to collect their medication from a different pharmacy without an electronic transfer.

Quick Steps

  • From the EMIS Web menu, point to Care Record and select Medication.
  • Choose the relevant medication item. If adding new medication, specify all required details.
  • Click Issue (or Reauthorise and Issue) at the top of the screen to access the Issue screen.
  • Select Print token (for EPS) or adjust the Printer settings if you need a full paper prescription.
  • Click Approve and Complete to confirm. If you’re an authorised prescriber, enter your PIN to sign.

If you decide not to print a token at the point of issue, it will automatically appear in the Potential EPS Tokens list for later printing if required.
