Handling invalid NHS numbers
EMIS Web flags an invalid NHS number by creating an invalid record task in your Registration Workflow. When this happens, follow these steps:
- Open the ‘Invalid Records’ task in the PDS section of Registration Workflow.
- Re-trace or re-register the patient to prompt Emis Web to validate their NHS number again.
- If you know the correct number, type the details and click OK. If unsure, contact the registration department at your ICB. Once confirmed, complete the invalid record task.
This process ensures accurate patient records and prevents future PDS synchronisation issues.
