To send a document via direct message in EMIS Web, follow these steps to ensure a secure and efficient process.
Activating Document Sharing
Before sending documents, Document Sharing must be activated:
- Navigate to EMAS Manager from the EMIS Web menu by selecting System Tools, then EMAS Manager.
- In the navigation pane, choose the EMIS tab and then Document Sharing.
- Click Activate Application. A green tick will confirm activation.
Sending a Document via Direct Message
Once Document Sharing is activated, you can proceed to send documents:
- Access Documents by navigating through Care Record in the EMIS Web menu.
- Select the required document and right-click to choose Send Document.
- The Send Document screen provides two options:
- Usual GP – Directly send to the patient's GP.
- Other – Use the Find Service screen to choose a service; it must be configured to Allow Referrals.
- If necessary, mark the document as Urgent before clicking Send.
