Hero Health - EMIS Web Support Guide

How do you end or restart medication courses in EMIS Web?

Prescribing & medication
Intermediate

To end a medication course in EMIS Web, navigate to the Medication screen through the EMIS Web menu by selecting Care Record and then Medication. Once there, identify and select the medication you wish to end. Click End Course on the top ribbon. This will open the End Course screen, where you can confirm the action and record the reason if required. Click OK to complete the process.

By efficiently ending inactive medication courses, practice administrators can maintain accurate patient records and avoid unnecessary prescriptions.

If you need to restart a previously ended medication course, go back to the Medication screen, select Current/Past from the ribbon to display the Past Medications. Choose the medication and click Restart. You can continue with the default settings or modify details as necessary before confirming with Restart. This action returns the medication to the Current Medication screen, ensuring the course can be continued or altered as needed.
