Overview
Configuring your Appointment Book to accept cross-organisational bookings ensures that other organisations can locate and book the slots you choose to make available. This setup includes allowing unregistered patients (if required) and marking slots accordingly.
Allow unregistered patients
In the Appointments Configuration screen, select General and tick Allow unregistered patients to be booked by an external organisation. This enables booking organisations to schedule appointments, even if the patient isn’t registered at your site yet.
Mark appointment slots as externally bookable
- When creating or editing a session template, highlight the required slots, right-click, then select Slot Properties.
- In Externally Bookable, choose Yes – Disallow unregistered patients or Yes – Allow unregistered patients as needed.
- Repeat if necessary for individual slots in the Appointment Book.
Making slots externally bookable helps reduce back-and-forth phone calls with other sites, ensuring that patients benefit from quicker access to the right appointments.
Once you’ve enabled unregistered appointments (if required) and set up externally bookable slots, any organisation with a valid sharing agreement can offer these to their patients.
