To configure instalment prescribing in EMIS Web, follow the steps below to ensure medications are issued in controlled installments:
Configuring Instalment Prescribing
1. Access the Medication module after selecting the patient’s record from the Care Record.
2. Click on Add Drug from the ribbon to open the drug selection screen.
3. Enter the drug name you wish to prescribe. Select the intended item from the list that appears.
4. Once the drug is selected, proceed to the Prescription Details section.
5. Locate and select the option for Instalment Prescription. This allows you to specify the frequency and quantity of dosages to be provided in each instalment.
6. Enter any additional details, such as dosage instructions and interval days between instalments, ensuring clarity and precision in administration.
Instalment prescribing can be a powerful tool for improving medication adherence and patient safety, particularly for high-risk medications.
7. Review all fields to confirm the prescription is accurate then click Save.
