In EMIS Web, event degrade tasks are found when information in the patient's electronic health record (EHR) cannot be matched to an existing clinical term or code. These tasks ensure important patient data is correct and complete, vital for clinical decision-making. Follow these steps to address event degrade tasks:
- Access the Workflow Manager in EMIS Web by clicking the menu, selecting Workflow Manager, and then choosing GP2GP from the navigation pane.
- In the Records Received section, look for Event Degrade. Here, any event degrade tasks will be listed.
- Select the task you need to address, and click View on the ribbon.
- In the Workflow Manager Task screen, choose the degrade event that requires correction.
- To replace the degraded item with a clinical term, click Add a Code.
- In the Add a Code screen, use the search field to find the appropriate code by typing its full or partial name and selecting from the list of matches.
- Enter the Date of Entry using either a specific date or the calendar icon, and add any necessary descriptive text.
- If the code represents a clinical problem, select Record as and complete any further problem classification details required.
- After dealing with all necessary items, click Mark as Viewed to finalise the task.
