When managing GP2GP degraded tasks in EMIS Web, it's crucial to properly code any medication items that have been flagged as degraded. This can be a result of discrepancies in drug codes between different clinical systems, particularly when a patient's record is being transferred via GP2GP.
Access GP2GP in Workflow Manager
First, you need to navigate to the GP2GP section within Workflow Manager to access any tasks needing attention. Here’s how you can address degraded medication items:
- Open the Workflow Manager from the EMIS Web menu.
- Select GP2GP under the Workflow Manager navigation pane.
- Go to Medication Authorisation within the "Records Received" section.
Adding a Clinical Term to the Degraded Medication
To add a medication code to a degraded item, complete the following steps:
- Select the required task related to the degraded medication.
- Click View on the ribbon to display task details. The screen will show current repeat medications and any degraded items.
- Select the degraded medication needing correction, then click Add Drug on the ribbon.
- In the Add Drug screen, fill in drug information:
- Name: Enter the drug name or select it from the list.
- Dosage: Specify the proper dosage as per clinical instructions.
- Quantity: Input the required quantity.
- Rx Type: Choose from Acute, Repeat, or other prescription types as necessary.
- Authorising Clinician: Assign the clinician responsible for authorisation.
- Click Update to save changes and apply them to the patient's care record.
Properly managing degraded tasks ensures that medication prescribing remains safe and accurate, preserving the integrity of the patient's care record.
