Hero Health - EMIS Web Support Guide

Why must .xxx Docman attachments be printed manually, and what steps should be followed to print them correctly?

When managing patient records, it's important to note that certain file types, particularly .xxx Docman attachments, cannot be transferred electronically via the GP2GP process. These files require manual identification and printing through Docman due to their nature as links rather than standalone documents within EMIS Web.

Identifying Unsent .xxx Files

You can identify unsent .xxx files via two main routes:

  • Workflow Manager: Navigate to Workflow Manager in EMIS Web. Access the GP2GP inbox and check under the 'Records sent' section marked as 'Integration successful'. Here, view attachments and look for those with the .xxx file type, indicated as "Unsent" in the list.
  • Care Record Summary: After a successful GP2GP transfer, attempt to print the patient summary. You'll be prompted if there are unsent attachments, giving you the opportunity to print them individually.

Printing .xxx Attachments

To print these files, use the Docman application directly. Attempting to print within EMIS Web will result in a queue error. Always reprint from Docman if such an error is encountered, ensuring the integrity and completeness of patient records sent to new practices.

"Manually managing .xxx files ensures that sensitive information is securely handled and verified, preventing inadvertent errors during data transfer."
