To file and re-authorise received medication within the GP2GP workflow, follow these steps:
Access the GP2GP Module
Navigate to the EMIS Web menu, select Workflow Manager, and then click GP2GP in the navigation pane. This will display all received records that need processing.
Authorise Repeat Medication
Within the Records Received section, select Medication Authorisation. Review the list of tasks and select the required task. Click View on the ribbon to open the Workflow Manager Task screen.
To authorise a medication:
- Select the medication to be authorised and click Authorise.
- Amend any medication details as necessary on the Reauthorise Medication screen, then click Authorise again.
- For medications to be moved to past drugs, select Past and provide a reason for ending the course on the End Course screen, then click OK.
Managing Degraded Medication Items
If there are any degraded medication items, these will appear as [Unmatched] in the care record.
- It is crucial to add a proper clinical term to these items to ensure they are recorded correctly within the patient's care record.
- Access the Medication Authorisation section, select the degraded item, and click Add Drug. Complete the required drug information and save the changes.
Modern workflows in EMIS Web streamline the processing of GP2GP transfers, allowing administrators and clinicians to efficiently manage and authorise incoming patient data. This not only saves time but also maintains continuity of care.
Completing Tasks
After processing, click Apply & Save to complete the task, ensuring that any clinical term additions and medication authorisations have been saved effectively.
