A diary entry in a patient's record on EMIS Web is a planned item or task associated with a clinical term, serving as a reminder for future actions such as follow-up appointments. Each diary entry corresponds to a single clinical term, ensuring clarity within the patient’s care record.

Adding a Diary Entry

To add a diary entry:

  • Navigate to the Care Record and select Diary.
  • Select Add and choose Diary Entry.
  • Search for and select the appropriate clinical term.
  • Enter the necessary information in the diary fields, choosing a specific date, or if uncertain, use 'NK' for "Not Known".
  • Assign an appropriate clinician and enter any detailed notes in the Diary Text field.
  • Click OK to save the entry.
"Diary entries help streamline patient follow-ups and ensure that no important tasks are overlooked, ultimately enhancing patient care and record accuracy."
