Hero Health - EMIS Web Support Guide

What does the GP Connect Access Record Structured capability involve, and which data elements are shared with consuming systems?

The GP Connect Access Record Structured capability allows accredited NHS systems to request and read your organisation’s patient records in a structured and coded format for direct care. It currently focuses on medications and allergies as the main fully live data sections, with further areas like immunisations, problems and consultations due in 2025.

You can enable this functionality in Organisation Configuration, ensuring Structured Record is selected under GP Connect Configuration. Once switched on, your EMIS Web system serves structured patient data to approved healthcare providers who need it for direct patient care. Bear in mind that EMIS Web only provides the data, and does not import or process Access Record Structured information from other systems.

Enabling Access Record Structured can save staff time and provide clinicians with near real-time, coded information for safer, more efficient care.
  • Medications: Shared in a coded format, currently live.
  • Allergies: Shared in a coded format, currently live.
  • Immunisations, Observations, Referrals, Diary Entries, Problems, Investigations and Consultations: In pilot, expected late 2025.
