Configuring organisation-level consultation styles in EMIS Web is essential for ensuring consistency across your GP practice or healthcare organisation. Here's a straightforward guide to help you set up these configurations:
Access Care Record Configuration
Begin by navigating to the Consultations section. Click on the EMIS Web menu icon, point to Care Record, and then select Consultations. If you do not have a patient selected, you'll be prompted to choose one.
Configure Consultation Styles
On the Consultations ribbon, select CR Config. This opens the Care Record Configuration screen, where you can manage consultation styles under Organisation Options.
- Select Consultation Styles in the left-hand pane. You can make styles active by selecting them from the Available Styles list and moving them to Active Styles.
- Utilise the control keys: SHIFT to select multiple contiguous styles, or CTRL for non-contiguous styles.
- To reorder styles, select a style and click the up or down arrows as required.
- For template-based styles, click the Template field button and use the Template Picker to choose the desired template.
Advanced Style Properties
For further customisation, expand the Advanced Style Properties section to add clinical purposes, default durations, and travel times.

Save Changes
Once you've made the necessary adjustments, confirm all changes by clicking OK. Remember, these changes apply to the entire organisation, so ensure they align with your practice's operational needs.
By setting consultation styles at this level, practices can maintain consistency and harness a streamlined workflow, ultimately enhancing patient care.
