Setting Up and Editing MESH Mailboxes for Receiving Lab Reports
To effectively manage lab reports in EMIS Web, it’s essential to set up and fine-tune your MESH (Message Exchange for Social care and Health) mailboxes. This process ensures the seamless delivery of laboratory reports directly to your practice's workflow, saving time and minimising errors.
Adding or Editing a MESH Mailbox
- Access Lab Reports: Click on the EMIS Web menu, navigate to Workflow Manager, and then select Lab Reports in the navigation pane.
- Go to Mailboxes: In the Organisation Options of the Workflow Manager Configuration screen, choose Mailboxes.
- Add or Edit a Mailbox:
- To add, click Add, enter a name in the Mailbox Name field and a password in the Mailbox Password field. NHS England provides this information when you register.
- To edit, select the existing mailbox, click Edit, modify the details as needed, and click OK.
Setting up MESH mailboxes allows practices to receive lab results efficiently, ensuring reports are directly matched to patients, thereby reducing manual processing time significantly.
Why Use MESH Mailboxes?
Using MESH mailboxes aligns with the best practices for digital communication in healthcare. It facilitates the secure exchange of medical information between laboratories and healthcare providers, improving operational efficiency and patient care quality.
