When encountering a 'Trading Partner – Unknown' notification in EMIS Web, this means that the exchange of data was attempted from an unrecognised trading partner. To resolve this issue and establish proper communication, you need to configure a new trading partner in the system.
Respond to 'Trading Partner – Unknown' Notifications
1. Contact the Relevant Hospital or Lab: Obtain the EDI code and DTS address from the trading partner's radiology department.
Efficiently managing trading partners in EMIS Web ensures seamless data exchange, saving considerable administrative time.
Configure a New Trading Partner
1. Access the Workflow Manager in EMIS Web.
2. Navigate to Configuration, and under Trading Partners, select Add.
3. In the Add Trading Partner window, input the trading partner’s details including Name, Type (Laboratory Links), and their EDI code.
4. Make sure to accurately fill in the DTS address details and any additional contact information.
5. Select Linked to enable messaging and click OK.
Ensure not to modify any existing trading partner configurations to avoid duplicate interchange issues. Once configured, revisit the DTS interchange that triggered the error:
- Access DTS under the Workflow menu and select View Interchange History.
- Locate the specific interchange using Search by Number.
- Right-click on the interchange and select Reprocess to initiate the corrected exchange.
